Authentic example of 10th Mountain Division equipment. They were painted white to act as camouflage during missions on snow-covered terrain. Most 10th Mountain Division soldiers were actually recruited by the U.S. National Ski Patrol. Skis like these were monumental in the successful missions against the Germans in the Italian mountains. This set has been "stripped" of the white paint, and the bindings have been switched to Rottefella nordic bindings. Matching serial numbers and 6-51 indicates these were made in June 1951.
